Timber 'Torch' Side Table

A side table nine inches deep. That's the whole idea — it slides in beside a sofa or a bed where a normal side table won't fit, and still gives you somewhere to put a drink, a book and a lamp.

The Timber design balances a thin top on two trestles, so the piece reads light even though it's solid hardwood throughout.

Eight woods, three standard heights, and a wireless charger if you want one built into the top.

Height

27, 28 or 29 inches, measured to the underside of the top, all at the same price. Twenty-eight is standard and suits most sofas and beds.

If you need something outside that range we'll build it — choose Custom height and tell us the measurement. That's $25, which covers re-cutting the trestles to a one-off length.

Honest notes

Nine inches deep is narrow by design. Measure your space first — it's meant to tuck in.
Oak takes stain, and we offer five finishes. Walnut, maple and mahogany are finished natural, because they're better that way.
Mahogany darkens with age rather than fading. Walnut lightens slightly in sunlight. Both are expected.
This is solid wood. Grain and colour will vary from the photograph — that's the material behaving correctly, not a flaw.
The wireless charger works through the wood — nothing visible on the surface.

The charging option puts a Qi charging pad underneath the tabletop, bonded to the underside. Nothing sits on the surface and there's no cord on the table. You put your phone down on the marked spot and it charges through the wood.

Things worth knowing before you choose it

It isn't magnetic. There's no MagSafe snap to line your phone up for you — you place it on the marked spot. It takes a day to stop thinking about and then you don't.
It charges through a case, including thick ones, but the case and the tabletop together have to stay under about an inch and a quarter. Ours is well within that.
It's slower than a cable. Wireless charging always is. This is a put-it-down-overnight charger, not a top-up-before-you-leave one.

Care

Finished in Odie's Universal Oil — a food-safe hardwax oil with no solvents or heavy metals. It bonds into the wood rather than sitting on top, so it can't peel or flake, and it's repairable in place: re-oil the spot rather than stripping the whole piece.
