Everyone is the same distance from everyone else, and one more person is a chair, not a rearrangement of the room. A grove is trees standing in the round. Same idea, fewer trees.
The legs splay outward as they drop, cut flat rather than turned. Between them run short braces, high enough to clear a knee.
Honest notes
The braces between the legs are structural, not decoration. They’re what lets the legs stay this slender without the whole thing racking when someone leans on a corner.
