Square is the most sociable shape there is — nobody at the head, nobody down the far end, everybody facing in. A clearing is the opening in the trees where people end up.
The legs splay outward as they drop, cut flat rather than turned. Between them run short braces, high enough to clear a knee.

The braces between the legs are structural, not decoration. They’re what lets the legs stay this slender without the whole thing racking when someone leans on a corner.
Give it two weeks before you’re rough with it. The oil finish takes fourteen days to cure — keep it dry and out of direct sun until then.
Oak takes stain and we offer four finishes. Maple and walnut are finished natural, because they’re better that way.
Solid wood moves. Seasonal change across the width is expected, not a fault.
