A dining table for a room that might not be a dining room.
Most dining tables are sized for a house that has somewhere to put one. This is the version for a flat, a cottage, a room doing three jobs at once — full dining height and a proper top, scaled down until it fits.
The legs are half-round — a flat face inward, a curve outward — and they lean out slightly as they drop. The top is bevelled underneath with the corners rounded hard. Put together it means there isn’t a sharp edge anywhere on the piece. Where Diamond is all facets, Stone is what the river does to a rock over a long time.
Honest notes
- Scaled down is the point. If you regularly seat six, this is the wrong table and the Ranch Homestead is the right one.
- Give it two weeks before you’re rough with it. The oil finish takes fourteen days to cure — keep it dry and out of direct sun until then.
- Oak takes stain and we offer four finishes. Maple and walnut are finished natural.
- Solid wood moves. Seasonal change across the width is expected, not a fault.
