Stool height, in a footprint that has no business holding a table.
It stands where a kitchen island would if you had room for one. Two people eat at it, one person works at it, and the rest of the time it holds whatever needs a surface. Tall and small is an unusual combination, and it’s the reason this exists.
The legs are half-round — a flat face inward, a curve outward — and they lean out slightly as they drop. The top is bevelled underneath with the corners rounded hard. Put together it means there isn’t a sharp edge anywhere on the piece. Where a diamond is all facets, Stone is what the river does to a rock over a long time.
Honest notes
- Counter stools, not dining chairs. Check your seat height before ordering — this is the tall one in the collection, and the Nook is the same footprint at normal table height.
- Small means small. Two place settings, comfortably. Three if nobody minds.
- Rounded everywhere, which is deliberate if you have a toddler at head height.
- Give it two weeks before you’re rough with it. The oil finish takes fourteen days to cure — keep it dry and out of direct sun until then.
- Oak takes stain and we offer four finishes. Maple and walnut are finished natural.
