Most nightstands are a cabinet with legs bolted underneath. This is the River frame at bedside scale — open, light, and shaped enough that it holds its own beside a bed that’s much bigger than it is.
The legs are what make it a River — a long concave sweep, tapering to the foot, jointed with wood dominos rather than screwed to a bracket. They read as a curve from every angle, which is unusual on a table, where the legs are normally the part nobody thought about.
Honest notes
Open underneath. No drawer, nowhere to hide a charger or a book you’re halfway through. That’s the design, but it’s worth knowing if you like things put away.
One surface. A lamp and a glass of water is about the honest capacity.
Jointed with wood dominos — floating tenons, cut and glued — not brackets. It’s slower to make and it doesn’t come loose.
Give it two weeks before you’re rough with it. The oil finish takes fourteen days to cure — keep it dry and out of direct sun until then.
Oak takes stain and we offer four finishes. Maple and walnut are finished natural.
