Counter height, with somewhere to put your feet.
Four legs at the corners, square in section, straight down to the floor. A few inches off the ground they’re tied together by stretchers that cross in the middle. On a counter-height table that rail isn’t trim — it is the difference between sitting on a stool for ten minutes and sitting on one for an evening.
If you are comparing it with the Mesa, that table carries a wide slab at each end, which gives you an open middle and nothing at the ends. The Rim does the opposite: you can pull a stool up on all four sides, and there is a leg in each corner to work around.
Honest notes
- The stretchers are where shoes go. They will scuff before anything else on the table does, and that is the job they were built for.
- A leg in each corner means a stool at the end shares its space with one. Fine for most people, tight if you sit square.
- Counter height, not bar height. Measure your stools — you want roughly ten to twelve inches between the stool seat and the underside of the top.
- The frame is slender on purpose. It is braced to take someone leaning on a corner, but it is not a table to sit on.
- Give it two weeks before you’re rough with it. The oil finish takes fourteen days to cure — keep it dry and out of direct sun until then.
- Oak takes stain and we offer four finishes. Maple and walnut are finished natural, because they’re better that way.
