The legs don’t meet the top. They become it.
Cylindrical legs run straight down from each corner, and where a leg reaches the tabletop it swells outward in a vertical roundover that carries the two into one another. There’s no shoulder, no bracket, no visible joint — the round becomes the flat and you can’t see where.
It’s one of the hardest things in the catalog to make and the easiest to miss. Most people just notice the table looks like it grew that way.
Honest notes
- That transition is a curve cut into solid wood, not a moulding applied afterwards
- Round legs at the corners means nothing to bark a shin on, and also nothing to brace against. It’s a table for sitting at, not for sitting on.
- Give it two weeks before you’re rough with it. The oil finish takes fourteen days to cure — keep it dry and out of direct sun until then.
- Oak takes stain and we offer four finishes. Maple and walnut are finished natural.
- Solid wood moves. Seasonal change across the width is expected, not a fault.
- The large tops get a steel C-channel brace underneath. It adds real stiffness and it keeps a wide panel from cupping over the years — you won’t see it unless you look.
